In Kennewick We . . .

We're treated royally . . .
Reconnected with old friends . . .
Had a meal that included sushi, potato salad, bbq'd salmon, yaki soba noodles, grass jelly, cherries, apricots and other assorted delicious washington state products. (I'm sure I've forgotton one of the main menu items, but it was all delicous) . . .
ICED MOCHAS!

Lydia and I spent the majority of our time in creative endeavors to be revealed at a later date!

Whew!

I got home from Kennewick last night at about 11:30 after dropping Tyler and Danny in Seattle and then trying to avoid a few construction sites the rest of the way home. It's beautiful here, hollyhocks started blooming while I was gone and this morning the temperature is 64.2. Both morning that Lydia and I took Gene to work it was already about 93 by 8:30 in the morning. I'm going to attempt to upload picture in the order that I wish them to appear!
Oh brother. I've been trying to upload pictures for over a half an hour now. I think there are three of the seven I wanted to show you. But, they are the last three in the sequence that I wanted to post in a certain order. Oh well, Here are water nymphs, bathing beautiies and HOT.

Back from the Ham again

These pictures are probably in reverse order. I keep forgetting to upload them backwards! Last week Danny combed his hair, just to go drop off an application. Tyler came over and Naoko called while he was here. On Friday night, before getting up at 4:00 the next morning, we feasted on shish kabobs. Sat/Sun Doug and Andy rode the STP classic and we met them in Tacoma at Bertolino's (they got a ride back from Portland to there) and then all headed for B'ham. We picked raspberries and blueberries. We came home Tuesday evening after stopping to see Tyler. We took the Southworth ferry to avoid potential Narrows Bridge construction nightmares. Quite the wild, long weekend - and the guys took a 200 mile bike ride. You can see Doug's pictures from the STP at this spot http://www.flickr.com/photos/37341630@N00/

Back from the Ham

These are picture from my trip to Bellingham to go to one of the showers given for baby Lew this weekend. It was held at the dance studio where Sarah teaches. Friday night we went out for delicious Thai food and after the shower Sarah, Judy and I got pedicures. Then we headed out to Boxx Farms to pick rasberries. They were so big an juicy. We each got about 3 1/2 pounds and I'm hoping to find a quick jam recipe to preserve just a few. I'm sure I'll eat most of them tomorrow right out of the flat. I see that these pictures get posted with the last one first, so you have to read the narrative backwards.

My report on the 4th of July

Here's a look at the festivities at Orchard Pointe Memory Care Community. I couldn't find either one of mother's pretty hats, but everyone definitely needed to shade their eyes as the fireworks were set up down at the west end of the back yard so we had to look into the sun the whole time. Anyway, I just found her a hat on a hook in the hall. Danny came over when he got off work across the street. And, the pie turned out real good!

Happy Fourth of July to Doug

Ok - as you can see, I got the hint. It's in the oven, even now! I used the Fannie Farmer, so it should be good!

Here are lots of pictures I took the last few days in Olalla, Port Gamble, at Point No Point and Poulsbo (not in that order). I'm obviously still learning, but having fun! (the one of Sarah was taken by Doug on his fancy manly camera)
